CLEO:
Two dogs came by
on Sunday to play with my people. One was large, but really friendly,
the other was really tiny, maybe smaller than me. She was feisty and
full of energy. I didn't go out to play, but rather sat on the steps
looking out the screen door. The larger one and I did touch noses
thru the screen...but that was a close enough. We mostly just sat
and stared at each other. The little dog, wanted attention and would
pester the big one to play. It was nice to see the big dog treating
the little one so gently. They seemed to have a lot of fun 'play
fighting' and just enjoying each others company. Their people finally
took the little one back home and Georgie (that's quite a nice name)
stayed on. But, I soon got bored and went to take a nap. I do take a
lot of those.
E
and J:
We did a couple of
things this last week and decided to post photos with
descriptions. Exception is, Ramsey Canyon Preserve.
After reading
all the literature regarding the Preserve, we thought there would be
lots of birds, as well as humming birds. Guess we didn't read the
fine print. We didn't see or hear any birds. In fact, it was so quiet
it was eerie. A gray squirrel greeted us upon arrival, but didn't
stick around for a photo. Saw a deer across the creek, which also
disappeared back into the brush. Must have been camera shy.
Disappointed? Yes, we were. Our hike began at The Visitor Center,
which is 5,500 ft, and ended at the Overlook at 6,200 ft, which is
the end of a one-mile trail. The last one-half mile, is a 500 ft.
rise in elevation on an often narrow, switch-back trail. Once at the top,
the view wasn't quite what we had hoped. Both of us paid the price of
hiking the 2-miles (round-trip) with sore calves, thighs, and feet.
Without hiking sticks and being unaccustomed to the altitude (sounds
better than saying one of us is out of shape), we took our time,
knowing how easy it would be to sprain an ankle on the rocky trail.
But...hey, “WE DID IT!!!” We also truly enjoyed the afternoon hike.
Had a nice weather last week, but did experience high winds and dust Saturday night.
Enjoy the photos:

Photo was taken zoomed as much as possible and then cropped even closer.
This thing is really, BIG! It isn't always up, and it isn't tethered.
Don't know how it is controlled, as it seems to stay in one very high spot!
We can clearly see it above the mountain top from our RV 10 miles away. |
L O V E the pictorial blog! You knew it ... each worth 1,000 words. Thanks for the tour~ and~ Jadee, you can stop taking self-photos. Get someone else to do it!!! LOL
